Climbing
02:40
|
|||
I may live a long, long time
But I'll be cut down in my prime
Cause I don't want to go back downhill
I've been there and I've had my fill
So I'll keep climbing
I'll keep climbing
I'll keep climbing
Rung by rung
What goes up, must come down
But I can't stay down on the ground
Give me a hammer and a box of nails
Build me a ladder that's off the scale
I'll keep climbing
I'll keep climbing
I'll keep climbing
Rung by rung
Land or sea, high or low
I'll take that ladder where I go
Point one end, way up high
Rung by rung up to the sky, and
I'll keep climbing
I'll keep climbing
I'll keep climbing
Rung by rung
There may be a heaven above
Maybe life is just a labor of love
The final rung, I'll count to ten
Climb back down and do it again
Cause I like climbing
I like climbing
I'll keep climbing
Rung by rung

Tornado
04:19
|
|||
I remember the day the sky turned black
Left the door open, only a crack
She caught a ride on that Twister, she never looked back
Tornado
I saw it coming, devil storm
Thought it would miss me, always did before
But it took me, then it shook me, then it shook me a whole lot more
Tornado
Tornado, tornado, please pass me by
You're making me dizzy, taking me too high
Ripping through the Heavens, tearing stars from the sky
Tornado
Maybe some day, I'm going to take a ride
In a tornado, see what's inside
Until then I think I'll just take cover and hide
Tornado
Tornado, tornado, please pass me by
You're making me dizzy, taking me too high
Ripping up the Heavens, tearing stars from the sky
Tornado

Ten $ Tip Jar
02:46
|
|||
One dollar Jack, two dollar Jill,
Give you five dollars for a $10 bill
Said the tip jar, oh yes I will
Give you five dollars for a $10 bill
A quarter won't fit, a 10 cent will
The best fit of all is a $10 bill
Said the tip jar, oh yes I will
Give you five dollars for a $10 bill
Old tip jar, got a small spout
Put a dollar bill in but you can't get it
Of the tip jar, oh yes I will
Give you five dollars for a $10 bill
Turned my back, the other day
Caught that tip jar walking away
Said no you don't, he said yes I will
He said he come back for a $10 bill
He's the $10 tip jar
He's the $10 tip jar
He's the $10 tip jar
He's the $10 tip jar
He'll give you five dollars for a $10 bill

I Herd Songs
03:51
|
|||
Out on the high prairie, alone and solitary
Underneath a Milky Way sky
Fetterless and only, but freedom brings a lonely
Only a song can satisfy
So set me on a saddle, and point my pony west
Music rolling round my head gives my poor heart a rest
I herd songs from Rockies to the Red River Valley
Saturday night, I let a few go free
Riding through the canyon
A song is my companion
With me until the end
Love's a sure-fire heartache
Even if your heart don’t break
Sure 'nuf it's gonna bend
Like bees around me buzzin’
I got songs by the dozen
They're keeping me company
They're all singing to get heard
Top of their lungs, like a jaybird
Stepping on each other's melody

April On The Plain
04:27
|
|||
Wind’s blowing up a dusty old day
Clouds rolling by like horses on a stampede run
Flowers busting through rusty red clay
Sweet aroma lifted to the morning sun
And it’s April on the Plain
Sweet springtime Okie rain
The waiting about drove me insane
But it’s finally come, it’s finally here
That April time of year.
Bird talking bird and bees making honey
My good friend love cast a spell on you and me
I don’t know when I ever felt so funny
Or when I ever felt so alive and trouble free
Cause…
I get a funny kind of feeling deep inside, I get itchy all over
I’m looking for changes, I’m looking for new horizons
I see growth all around me and I want to grow
I ain’t got nothing against the summer day
And autumn’s got the prettiest coat I done ever seen
But soon as Old Man Winter gets out of the way
My favorite season is watching the grass turn green

Take Off Your Boots
04:40
|
|||
I was a lonely, wild stallion, cocky and proud
I used to ride, holding my pride, above the crowd
Thought I was king, king of the stable
You didn’t wait, you slammed that gate, you turned the table
Chorus:
Take off your boots, take off this saddle
You’ve already busted me, I got no more battle,
If you came here to break me, then break me you did
But I can’t help but feel like something got fixed inside me instead.
You took me on, you thought you could show me
But I didn't blink, I didn't think, you'd know how to throw me
There was a time that I resisted
Hopelessly blind that Love of this kind even existed
Once in awhile I start to wonder
How I survived, why didn't I ever go under
Love was a gamble, I couldn't risk it
If you hadn’t come round to take me down I would have missed it

My DUI
03:15
|
|||
Buddy whatcha in for, how'd you get here
Little too much liquor, was it too much beer
I said, I'll tell you the story, I will not lie
'Bout how I got here, my DUI.
First there was a woman, some flirting and a spark
Then there was a kiss, few more after dark,
Before things got hotter, she sent me home in my car
Cop pulled me over, at the first radar.
"Son, have you been drinking?", I said, "not a drop"
"Been sippin' love's nectar, I didn't want to stop,
Looks like it overcame me, altered my state,
Probably shouldn't be driving, can't even think straight"
Yanked me out of my car, I had to chuckle,
Thinking about her again made my knees buckle,
"Son are you intoxicated?", answered "I guess!"
So you see I'm not guilty, but I did confess.
Judge asked am I sorry, do I have regret
About what I did, told him "you bet!"
If I could do it over I'd had a couple more!"
He threw me back in the drunk tank, that's what I'm in here for.
So that's my story, and here's my advice
If you're drinking and driving, you better think twice
But if a beautiful woman is making you feel high
And you get pulled over, you're better off to tell a lie.

Zen Cowboy Lovesong
03:46
|
|||
A cowboy's love life is a big long string of roundups
Another rodeo, another ride
What happens on the prairie stays on the prairie
What matters now is that you are by my side….this… evenin’
See, I call all my women Darlin’
I call all my women Hon
But you can know outright, if I call you out tonight
Darlin’ Hon, you’ll be my number one.
The calling of the saddle can be lonely
Too many days on the range can cloud your head
A bachelor you will find, but it don’t mean I’m unkind
If I can’t recall just who’s been in my bed…roll…lately….
So, I call all my women Darlin’
I call all my women Dear
But you can know outright, if I call you out tonight
Darlin’ Dear, you’re the one I most want to be near.
You ask me if our moment can last for always
You tell me I’ll be sorry, and you know, I probably will
But a cowboy just can’t stay, and if you can find a way
You can show me how to make this restless pony stand still…for… ever…
That's why I call all my women Darlin’
I call all my women Doll
And you can know outright, if I call you out tonight
Darlin’ Doll, you’ll be my one and all.
Darlin’ Hon, you’ll be my only one.

Missin Kissin
03:53
|
|||
I’m missin’ kissin’, it’s kissin’ I lack
What I wouldn’t do for just a little smack
Ain’t missin’ holding hands, go to church on Sunday eve, but
I’m missin’ kissin’, between you and me
I’m missin’ kissin’, I’d even take a peck
But if I had my way, I’d much rather neck
Ain’t missin’ makin’ eyes, I got a perfect memory
I’m missin’ kissin’, between you and me.
I used to take kissin’ for granted
Kissin’s always there it seems
But I’m just a little disenchanted
To only be kissin’ you in my dreams.
I’m missin’ kissin’, 'cause kissin' always takes two
I'm missin' kissin' between me and you.
I’m missin’ kissin’, I really hate to pout
But if you were here, we could both make out
Ain’t missin’ hugging, my kids are there for me
I’m only missin’ kissin’, between you and me.
I used to take kissing for granted
Kissin’s always there, it seems
But I’d like to have a little one planted
On my lips, and not just in my dreams
I’m missin’ kissin’, I think I’m in a pinch
I’m longing for, your familiar French
Ain’t missin’ whoopee, it’s right there on TV
I’m missin’ kissin’
Between you and me.

How Much More Love
03:29
|
|||
We didn't know where we were going
Forward, we never looked back
And if I'd known that love would keep growing
A bigger suitcase I'd pack
More room for humor to take us this far
More songs to sing on a 6 string guitar
Romance, passion, wherever found
Pack every last bit of love laying 'round
I didn’t know how much I would love you
When the feelings were new, there were only a few
How much more love will I have to borrow
To love you this much more tomorrow.
Angel of love, boundlessly giving
Showering blessings from heaven's supply
But I'm just a man, only living
No storehouse of love in the sky
Will I have to beg, learn how to steal
To find all the love to show how I feel
I can buy jewels and flowery bouquets
But where can I find love to last all our days?
I didn’t know how much I would love you
When the feelings were new, there were only a few
How much more love will I have to borrow
To love you this much more tomorrow.

One Time
04:55
|
|||
Baby calls me Mr. Sweepstake,
There's no gamble that I won't make,
I take a chance every now and then,
If you never play, you’re never gonna win
I’d like to land the big one once and a while, maybe even one time, but
I’ll have to settle for a smaller cut, five bucks says I make this ten-foot putt!
One time, come on Lady, give me some Luck
Just one time, let me win the big one then, I’ll give it all up!
One time, I’m going all in, make me a rich man
One time, do me a favor, I know that you can.
(I’m know I’m running late, Baby, but I’m feeling pretty lucky tonight…. )
Well when the odds get better, the bets get odder,
If you’re gonna bet the big one, it better hold water,
I always say, in a game of Texas Hold’em,
If you ain’t got the cards, you really ought to fold ‘em
But I don’t listen to my own advice, the size of the pot, just too nice
I make a big bet, table calls my bluff, need one last card 'til I strut my stuff
One time, come on, Dealer, show me that Ace
One time, down on my knees, begging for grace,
One time, been sitting so long, I been betting so hard,
One time, just this one time, just that card!
(gimme an ace, gimme an ace, gimme an ACE!) Awwwwwwwww!!!
That was my last hold 'em I got busted
Evenings home with Baby, 'til I'm more trusted
But our Love grows stronger every day
It's kinda like poker in a funny way
See, I played Love weak, now I'm all in
Night time comes, the games begin
Baby gives me all the action I can take
Playing crazy eights, fifty cent stake!

Regret
04:18
|
|||
The things I didn't do and the way I didn't do them
Won't let me sleep at night
Life I didn't live, how I didn't live it,
Haunt me when I turn out the light.
The love I didn't give, why I didn't give it
After we made our vow
Words I didn't say when I could have said them
Can I say them to you now?
I do love you, but couldn't say it back then
I've heard love is wasted on younger men
I'll get over you, it's still too soon for that yet
I may forgive, someday I'll forget, but I'll never lose this regret.
The ways that you looked, the last time I looked at you,
Think about you every day,
Your peaceful face when you went to that heavenly place,
Let me know you'd be OK
But my heart burst, got stuck in the past, where only mem'ries grow
You were my first, you were my last, twenty-five years ago.
I did love you, but couldn't say it back then
I've heard love is wasted on younger men
I'll get over you, it's still too soon for that yet
I may forgive, someday I'll forget, but I'll never lose this regret

Rich Man
04:03
|
|||
Never quite made it off of the farm
I don't winter in a place that’s warm
My 401K may be cause for alarm
but I’m still a Rich Man
People don't bow when I walk by
I look just like a regular guy
But my heart bursting with thanks inside
Why I feel like a Rich Man
Chorus:
Full as the moon, big as the sky
Bright as the sun and twice as high
Soft as a feather, tough as a fighter
Smooth as a sip of sweet apple cider.
Every new day I get a new start
I may be cash poor but I'm rich at heart
And Doctor says mine is state of the art,
As good as any Rich Man's
Cupboards are bare but I don't lack
Garden's coming in right on track
Corn and tomatoes growing out back
Make me feel like a Rich Man
Chorus
Troubles coming my way not as depressing,
When I count my everyday blessings,
And did I mention
This rich man's life, I get to spend
Best of all, with my best friend
She's soft as a feather, tough as a fighter,
Loves me with every heartbeat inside her
Her love is
Full as the moon, big as the sky
Bright as the sun and twice as high
Soft as a feather, tough as a fighter
Smooth as a sip of sweet apple cider.
Yeah, Love made me a rich, rich man
Soft as a feather, tough as a fighter
Smooth as a sip of sweet apple cider
Mmmmmmmm...feel like a Rich Man!
